We said goodbye to our resident Waterbury and with car packed with our new rowing machine we tackled the 403km drive back to camp.
The trip was uneventful with a few stops for body breaks and jelly tots. Entering the KNP at Punta Maria gate is always special and made even more so this time with a magnificent Elephant bull right next to the road. It was clear to see that this northern part of the park has had a lot more rain than the south with tall lush green grass and water everywhere. We navigated through a very large yet relaxed hErdman of Buffalo before crossing the Levuvhu Bridge and river onto home turf.
We pulled up to a very joyous camp staff and to a very very green camp. A quick unpack of camp shopping and wine a glass of wine in hand Dee and I were taken on a tour of the camp. Boy had these backupsites put in a solid effort the last week or what... the pathways were clean, the grass trimmed and everything neat and tidy. One can see we have two ladies as backups.
A braai, with Katherine our new Texan backup being tutored on the finer skills of braaing wors. She did a marvelous job leaving the easy eating work up to us. Tomorrow starts a new course so an early night had by all.
I have added a few pics of the concession before we left with some walks we did to what the camp looks like now. A bit different to how a lot of you remember it. Ok so having difficulty downloading pics they will follow. Sorry.

Afternoon all.
Dee and I have tried to create this new blog so family, friends and everybody else who wants to see what happens on my walks are welcome to log in and have a look. It is a work in progress as most of you who know me know I am technologically challenged at the best of times, however I will try keep this as updated as possible with daily accounts of our walks.
Currently we are on leave in Hoedspruit and will be heading back to the Makuleke tomorrow afternoon to start a course with the Cornwall College. I will start blogging once back in the camp but for now will post a few pics from my previous walks.
I hope everybody enjoys.
